Fast forward to modern days, in parts of Europe tooth gems have been popular for several decades. It is common for professionals like lawyers, doctors and teachers to have tooth gems, similarly to earlobe piercings.

When I apply gems- each is adhered using the same materials dentists use to apply braces to teeth.

It is quick, painless and non-invasive way to personalize your smile with some added sparkle or shine.

You can bring in reference photos of what you want done or you can pick out what you want at the time of your appointment. I will do an anatomy check of your teeth and bite line to determine if the size or style you are wanting done will work well for you. Together we will go over any goals, concerns, and budget you may have. We will discuss after care, longevity, replacement policy and you will fill out a consent form.

After I get set up for your appointment, you will sit down (leaned back/feet up) and I will put a cheek retractor in your mouth to keep your lips back. We will confirm the location the gems are being applied. I will offer to walk you through what I am doing step by step or you can also opt to just sit back and enjoy the ride.

1-2 Gems usually takes around 45 for the total appt. Bigger designs or multiple gems will depend on what we are doing.

Typically gems applied by a professional will ideally last anywhere from 6-12 months, and sometimes they last years.

Sometimes they will fall off between the 1-5 month timeline, and that is just the life it lived. If this happens we can always go over things like what we could do differently with placement, style, or aftercare.

If a tooth gem falls off within 2 weeks of it being applied, I will do one replacement free of charge.

Tooth gems will fall off naturally and everything I use is body safe so don't worry if you accidentally swallow it!

If you ever decide you no longer want your gems, a dentist can remove them. Unfortunately I am not legally allowed to remove gems and trying to pick them off can cause long term damage to your enamel. (I have seen this in person, don't do it.)

If you need advice or suggestions for removals please contact me directly.

Please brush your teeth before your appointment if possible. I do have crest single use travel brushes if you are not able to, but brushing prior will help with longevity.

You will not be able to eat or drink anything for 1 hour after we apply gems so hydrate before we get started.

No crunchy foods, acidic or hot beverages for 24hrs after.

No brushing the gems for the first 24hrs but do so going forward.

Walk-ins are welcome but pre booked appointments are always best.

Prices & Booking

Similar to piercing appointments, service is $40 and the crystal gems range from $10-$30 each.

I do offer discounts on some of the crystals when you purchase multiple, depending on the size. The 18k solid gold gems range from $100-$150 depending on the size and design.

If we plan a whole curation (aka freestyle) or a large design that spans multiple teeth, it is priced more like a tattoo would be. I will look at the quantity of gems we are using and the time/materials it will take for me to apply them and quote you based off that. To get a quote for a large curation please book a free consultation with me.
